Isn't that kinda counterproductive tho? Viv was made to be an apathetic nerd, a girl completely neutral. She was an attempt for /v/ to spitefully show feminists that they could design a better, more interesting female character than them. One that was an un-sexualised, antisocial, recluse without also being ugly, a huge bitch, just apathetic. She was just supposed to be a female analogue of your average gamer. It would seem to me that her kind of character/personality would just shrug off gamergate as pointless drama and go back to playing her games, maybe at most be annoyed with the corruption, but never be a mascot for the cause or anything.
I might very well be wrong, this is just how it seems to be to an outside eye. I've not really followed GG since Vivian was brand new cause it seemed to be going down a pretty crusadey path (not to say that the opposition is any better mind you.)

The Fine Young Capitalists (TFYC) awarded /v/ the rights to create their own character for their Gamejam because of the 100k+ donation they made to TFYC. Vivian James was born from the brainstorming that ensued (her name being a play on 'Video Games'). She has since become Gamergate's mascot.

I know she was created from the contest that /v/ saved that the Feminazi shills tried to kill, but I thought she hadn't been created for the purpose of being that mascot. I remember watching a couple of those threads, and I remember the discourse being split between let's create the most offensive icon possible to stick it to them, or let's create the most reasonable female character ever made in games to beat the cucks at their own game. Eventually the latter won out because it was the better idea IMO, but I dont remember the discussion ever being about making the character as an icon or image to use to identify GG.
All of this with the disclaimer that I am just looking for clarification becuase as I said, I have not been in the loop for a very long time. Her purpose may have changed since I stopped following the scene, but it does not seem very in line with the way the character would have originally acted.
I'm also very tired and likely just misunderstanding.

Could I get a link to the brit then? Part of me wants to get back into it, but IDK. these days it seems to be more petty bickering than actually trying to change anything, from both sides. (More heavily from the feminist side, I'll allow.) I agree with gamergate in practice but dislike the way the movement has carried itself in some instances, though I suppose like all movements bad apples seem to spoil the bunch.
